Renee Lando

Renee Lando is a local favorite, returning once again to Highlands GreenFest! Renee’s original and intriguing guitar melodies give rise to a unique style fusing flavors that span from neo-classical to jazz served up with a side of blues leaving audiences standing on their feet thrilled by this guitar virtuoso.
Critics have likened Renee’s guitar work to that of Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges and Tommy Emmanuel and Steve Vai.
Renee Lando sculpts her own compositions and has been performing for more than 24 years. She released her first CD in the Fall of 2005. "Heartstrings," has been received with open arms by her audiences and is receiving airtime on regional television. Renee's music is now serving as the backdrop to the podcast and webcast series of lectures and developmental programs produced and hosted by the American Management Association (www.amanet.org).
Renee is back in the studio these days working on a new CD that incorporates an expanded repertoire of guitar techniques, new tunings and riveting percussiveness. It is a reflection of her continued development musically since the release of “Heartstrings.”
Renee leaves audiences wanting more with opening performances for Blues historian phenom Rory Block and Jazz efficionado Johnny A. and iconic jazz guitarist great Lou Pallo.
According to the Subruban Trends, Lando, a "guitar virtuoso, can play licks faster and more proficiently than most "star" guitarists in the mainstream."

Loretta Hagen
www.lorettahagen.com
We are very pleased to present Loretta Hagen for a second performance at Highlands GreenFest.
Loretta has been writing and performing music that has earned rave reviews for her rich vocals and poignant songwriting. With four CD releases to her credit, she has been performing her music in venues such as Music At The Mission, Outpost In The Burbs, Mainstage Concerts, Minstrel Coffee House, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Black Potatoe Music Festival, and opening for artists such as Steve Forbert, John Gorka, Ellis Paul, Richie Havens, Ollabell, Roger McGuinn, as well as headlining her own shows.
Loretta's latest CD, Sundown Till Dawn, was released in September of 2008 and is receiving national and international radio play. The title song, "Sundown Till Dawn", is her most personal recording to date. After her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease five years ago, Loretta and her family became her caregivers, helping her through the heartbreaking challenges that come with the disease. It has been an emotional roller coaster for her family and Loretta's song paints a clear picture of how her mom has suffered. Sundown Till Dawn will be included on a soundtrack in a film by Backlight Productions called "Ten Mountains, Ten Years", about a group of mountain climbers called “The Regulars” who are climbing mountains to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Loretta was chosen by The Alzheimer's Association to perform her song at The Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC during the Public Policy Forum Candlelight Vigil on March 23rd.
Loretta will be joined by guitarist Gary Hagen and vocalist Sara Gallmann.
Loretta Hagen - Sundown Till Dawn
Richard Cuccaro wrote of Loretta Hagen’s Sundown Till Dawn in Acoustic Live in NYC and Beyond Magazine, "2008 has been good to Loretta Hagen. Twelve self-penned songs for that big, Nashville-style voice to ride on. Many songs are inspirational and seem directed inward for the singer as well as for the listener. Some, like "Mirror, Mirror," are so brilliantly conceived lyrically, they seemed destined for one of the Nashville biggies to pick up and have a monster hit. Of course, if justice prevails, and the buying public will take to li'l ol' gal from New Jersey, Loretta will have the big hit (or two) herself."
