Local Artisan Day at Ringwood Farmers Market

On November 17th, we will be launching the Be Local-Buy Local campaign in Ringwood by co-sponsoring a Local Artisan's Day at the Ringwood Farmer's Market from 9am - 1pm.

This is the last market day of 2007 and we expect quite a crowd. Our other co-sponsors are Eat Local. Inc. and the Ringwood Environmental Commission.

Our intention is to help shoppers purchase their holiday gifts from local artisans and service providers this year while providing an opportunity for local folks to sell their goods and services.

We are still looking for:

Glass workers, Metalworkers, Painters, Sculptors, and any other fine artists. If you know anyone or can make a recommendation, we would greatly appreciate it. We are happy to contact anyone you think may be interested in the opportunity the morning of 11/17  from 8a-1p. Feel free to pass along their contact information and we'll get in touch with them directly.

Here is what we do have so far:

1) We have three potters who all do very different type of items. One creates beautiful decorative items, another creates Asian types of items (e.g. sushi plates), and a third creates very practical pieces (mugs, plate sets, butter dishes, etc).

2) We have two photographers - each have very different styles and composition

3) We have three jewelry makers - one who focuses on natural earth elements, another who does glass beading and another who does crystal art.

4) We have a candle maker who makes soy-based colorful aromatic candles.

5) We have a dried flower artist who makes beautiful high end pieces for the home.

6) We have a massage/reiki therapist who also does energy readings and can bring a heated table to the event and provide gift certificates for the holidays

7) We have a local Yogalates teaching group who can do a demonstration and provide gift certificates for the holidays.

8) We also have a woman who knits/weaves her own stuff and it is beautiful! Clothes and blankets are the main items.

9) We have a tie-dye couple who make great colorful items for kids and adults

Thanks for all of your support as we help our residents begin to Think Local, Buy Local, Be Local.
