Guest Speaker: West Milford’s New Recycling Coordinator

West Milford’s new Coordinator of Recycling and Solid Waste, David Stires, will speak to township residents about plans and initiatives underway to improve the township's recycling program in 2010 with the goal of decreasing solid waste while increasing revenue from recycling tonnage.  

A number of topics will be discussed including what can and cannot be recycled in town. Attendees are encouraged to bring questionable home recyclables along for clarification. We will learn about how recycling can and will be enforced, in a fair and consistent way, in residential areas, businesses and on township property. We will find out what is available to township residents for free at the dump, including mulch, topsoil and wood chips. We will also learn how to deal with disposing of appliances with Freon, such as air conditioners and refrigerators.
