Sustainable West Milford needs your help. Over the last five years, we’ve been working hard to make our community a more sustainable one. In addition to monthly educational offerings, we bring you the West Milford Organic Community Garden, the Native Medicinal Plants Garden, the Farmers’ Market, the Highlands GreenFest, the Canning Club, Ample Harvest West Milford, and numerous other opportunities to learn and do more to bring sustainability into your life.
In June, we launched the Time Bank of West Milford, a local non-monetary economic system that connects unmet needs with untapped resources. Spend a lovely summer evening with friends enjoying a sense of community and connection while learning how we can share our abundant resources with each other in these challenging economic times. Some of the music you hear will be well known songs that embody the community we create on the road of life, some will be fun summer favorites that bring back fond memories, and some are original creations, written by Bridgette, straight from the journals of her own life experiences. How would we describe Bridgette’s music? Think new age hippie meets Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt, with some Beatles, Hair and Aretha Franklin influence thrown into the mix. Bridgette Kossor has been professionally singing, entertaining, writing and recording for over 25 years and is most recognized for her dynamic, energetic and soul-felt performances. If you enjoyed listening to her at the West Milford Farmers’ Market last season, or if you came to our winter concert fundraiser back in January, you know what a great treat you are in for, so bring your friends!
The Italian Villa, locally owned and operated by the Muto family, is also a treat, offering some of the finest food in the area. Their chefs will be preparing sumptuous appetizers with farm fresh, local ingredients to be served during the concert. Should you decide to stay after the show, you will find they have created special seasonal dishes, also with locally sourced ingredients, to compliment their regular menu.
