The weather finally has us believing in the season... and in response, our vendors are resounding with seasonal flavors you love--from spices to apples, to squashes of all kinds... fall is finally here, and no one seems to be complaining.
Here's who will be at the market this week:
Part Time vendors:
Ol' Darlin' will be joining us with handmade artisanal soaps, salves and lip balms by Kathy Goldman.
Cindy Lou Designs will have an array of fall items-- from tea towels to pillows, aprons, tablecloths, pumpkins and cat pillows.
Our Woods Maple carries NY maple syrup and other maple products produced on their farms in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
Whats new this week:
Peace & Carrots --their farm has just been Certified Naturally Grown! Visit their table this week and try kohlrabi. A member of the cabbage family kohlrabi has a mild flavor, and a texture similar to that of a crisp apple. It can be eaten raw or cooked. Laura's recommendation is to try them raw with homemade hummus.
Ideal Farms has fall veggies! Look for squash, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins at their table, plus more. They’ll also have the usual goods while they last: corn, broccoli, and tomatoes.
Corbett Cookie Bar Kitchen has a variety of homemade flavors baked into deliciously delectable cookie bars.
Snoep Winkel Farms in addition to their well-raised and meats and eggs, their chicken drumsticks are still on sale this week! Even better? They’re adding chicken halves to the sale, too.
West Milford Confection Connection Carrie Longacre has a variety of gluten-free, vegan and nut-free treats in addition to her traditional selections. This week they're making ginger bread along with other fall flavored goods like mad apple cake in both regular and gluten-free.
MP Knives can sharpen all of your knives and more. Get your blades sharpened for $1/inch--lawn tools, knives, scissors--get it done before winter sets in.
Top Of The Mountain Honey carries a variety of local honey in a variety of flavors. Try their pumpkin spice honey and locust honey. Locust honey is amazing... smooth and not too heavy, with sweet undertones but also a crisp, floral flavor. They sold out last week, so be sure to arrive early!
Pickle Licious has a variety of ways to enjoy pickles, garlic and olives. This week try Peppadews. This new addition to the Pickle Licious family are small red peppers with a sweet honey flavor to start, but finishes with a medium spicy kick. Mark recommends stuffing them with a soft cheese (perhaps burrata from Pie Eyed?) and roasting them in the oven.
Empanada Lady From sweet to savory, the Empanada Lady has the best, most authentic empanadas around. This week try a kale and sweet plantain empanada with white cheese.
Pie Eyed Bar Pies In addition to their famous bar pies and rolls, they also have fresh mozzarella and burrata cheese (check out Pickle Licious for a great way to use that burrata... if you don't eat it all first!)
Please welcome Kyle Hancharick to the music tent from 4-6pm.
